City/Town:

Hands Across the Sand is a movement made of people of all walks of life and crosses political affiliations. This movement is not about politics; it is about protection of our coastal economies, oceans, and marine wildlife. Let us share our knowledge, energies and passion for protecting all of the above from the devastating effects of oil drilling and oil tankers.

This is a peaceful gathering of the people of the world! People are planning this event across the United States, Canada, and the globe.

**In Victoria, we will meet at WILLOWS BEACH in Oak Bay – located at the corner of Beach Drive and Dalhousie – on June 26 at 11:00 A.M.

We will form lines in the sand and at 12:00, we will all JOIN HANDS!**

The image is powerful, the message is simple. NO to Offshore Oil Drilling, No to Oil Tankers along our Beautiful B.C. Coast, YES to Clean Energy.

The Coast of BC is not safe from off-shore drilling – after what has happened in the Gulf of Mexico, we have a responsibility to stand together and show that we care. We are the caretakers of this Earth and all of the Oceans. It’s time to take a peaceful stand and let the world know that we will not let anything like this ever happen again.

Gather old and new friends in your communities and come out on June 26th. We are hoping to make this a no-drive event! Walk, bike, take the bus, or carpool if necessary.

Let’s join hands together on June 26th with our global friends at Noon for 15 minutes for recognition!

Let’s all connect and make a valuable statement to change!

If you’re not able to meet at this location, please feel free to start your own Hands Across the Sand event at a beach near you!

Please join us on facebook groups for updates – Hands across the sands – Victoria!
